Greetings, my name is Peter. I am a proud owner of an HTC One M8 and this is my first post on this forum

Recently I've received an update (Android 6.1) for my device, the update went well with no errors. One thing I noticed is that Google added the ability to use the SD card as an Internal Storage. After I performed a quick backup of my Pictures, Videos and music of my sd card, I chose to use it as an internal storage. Using the "Format for internal storage" option on my HTC, I received a message. "The SD card you are using is not fast enough" or something like that. I was really confused because I am using a Kingston 64GB SDXC UHS class speed 3 card which, I guess is fast... I moved apps like VLC player, Instagram, Messenger and games on my SD and I noticed that they got really slow. Not just slow, I mean like 5 "o"s in slow (slooooow). I downloaded a program called SD tools and showed that the write speed is 49.3MB/s while the write 198.8MB/S???? Games like bitcoin billionare need 15 - 20 secs to load and it is around 50 MB the whole up with the spare data and cache!

I have no intention to by a new SD card. If someone can help me fix this issue or even tell me how to make things go faster

Thank you for your time

I have SDXC UHS Class 3 not just Class 3 MicroSD card, with minimum serial data 30MB/S while Class 10 MicroSDs are capable up to 10MB/S

Oh sorry, my bad.:-\

Make sure the card isn't counterfeit (which is unfortunately somewhat common). Run SD Insight.

Also, do you know for sure that the M8 supports UHS speeds? Was that SD Tools program an Android app, checking the card's read/write speed while in the phone, or a PC program checking the speeds while in the PC?

It's also worth noting that even with fast cards, you may still have a noticeable performance hit, because the fastest SD card will still be significantly slower than eMMC onboard memory. How much of a hit, I can't say, but that is something that Jerry mentioned in his article.

SD Insight recognizes my SD Card manuf "Kingston". SD tools showed high read and write speeds while running on my M8. Yes SD Tools is an Android app. I know that a build in memory is faster than any SD Card out there but I cant stand waiting Facebook's Messenger app , 42 secs to open!

Thank you
