HTC One M8 too hot from sun, can I get some help?

HTC One M8 too hot from sun help

-I left my phone under the car seat and had things on top of it hoping it wouldn't get hot, but after five hours I went back and the screen doesn't turn on although a green LED is flashing. I seriously can't afford another phone and I have tried plugging it in for three hours and nothing changed. Help me super smart phone people, you're my only hope.

If the screen itself got much over 125 degrees F (which is easy in the summer in a closed car), it was destroyed. Probably other parts of the phone were damaged as well. Phones aren't comfortable in temperatures you aren't comfortable in.

Actually all I had to do was put it in the fridge. Even after all that time it worked.

Oh god no.. Never put a HOT phone in a refrigerator or freezer.
The air temperature difference can cause condensation inside your phone and you do not want that.
Plus the higher the temp difference between phone HOT and fridge COLD can cause the screen to crack from rapid cooling. Let it cool naturally, or maybe with a fan in an air conditioned room. Thats the best way to cool it down.

OK I am going to look on the bright side, you didnt think of liquid nitrogen at the time. So all is not lost.

It's the other way around. Sticking a phone in the fridge would cause condensation when you pull it out into a hotter environment. Of course it also depends on humidity too. I otherwise agree it's not a good idea to use a fridge or freezer, and that a fan or even AC vent would be best.

The hotter air inside the phone contains moisture that it can't hold when it's rapidly chilled, so it condenses out as water. Slow cooling - like in an un-air-conditioned room (with a small fan maybe, not blowing directly on the phone) - will allow the moisture that the air is losing to evaporate before it condenses. But doing it quickly either way, hot phone in the fridge or freezing phone in a heated room, causes condensation.

Of course it also depends on humidity too.

Anything above about 15% can cause a problem. So unless your neighbors are Gila Monsters, there's enough humidity to cause a problem.

And a typical freezer, 10 degrees or lower (ice cream starts to soften at about 12 degrees F), can crack more on a hot phone than the screen - like the plastic case and other plastic parts inside.
