HTC One M8 updates after rooting

[AC Question]

My friend had once rooted my HTC One M8 for me and it worked fine. I got a new phone and decided to wipe this one clean. After doing so, it keeps showing errors with any app updates and eventually lands on a black screen with lots of options.

Any idea what's happening and how to fix it?
