Hello, I have an HTC One M8 (recently upgraded to OS 6.0, though I suspect that's not part of the issue here). I was having trouble with my sound bar (LG LAS454B), so I un-paired the soundbar from my phone in the Bluetooth menu thinking I could perform the pairing again and hopefully that would resolve it. Turns out the issue wasn’t with my phone or the sound bar, and that other issue is now resolved.
However, now I have a different issue! When I go to pair—er, “re-pair”—my HTC with my sound bar, I keep getting an error that says “Couldn’t pair with LG LAS454B(21) because of an incorrect PIN or passkey.” I’m never prompted for a PIN. The LG manual says to use “0000” if prompted, but I have never been prompted for a PIN when connecting any devices to the soundbar in the past.
I don’t think it’s the sound bar. I don’t have any other issues with devices connecting to it. It’s also a very simple pairing process—just click pair and wait 10s.
I’ve gone into my Bluetooth settings on my HTC and reset cache and data, no luck. Restarted several times. HTC support says only thing to do is a factory reset, but that seems a little nuclear doesn’t it? Surely, there’s gotta be another way, right?
Thanks!
