I have some theories on the M9.


I'm sorry, but nobody can sit here and tell me that the sensor /flash both being circular should not match the camera lens shape. The camera lens should be circular. That's aesthetics 101 in design school. Then throw a black bumper on top of the lens. If Chou was trying to mimic Steve Jobs, he did a poor job.

You are wrong. The sensor is rectangular in shape and not circular. Who told you that it was circular? Also the lens element is indeed circular in shape. You are most likely referring to the lens cover which is square.

I honestly blame Evleaks and the render, I Bet if the fake render never came people wouldn't be bashing the phone as much as they are

Agreed...It was basically a prefect design with the logo better integrated into the design.

I think it would still get bashed because the phone hasn't changed from the M8. I for one was expecting a new design. Still using aluminum. Hell, they could have changed the front only and kept the circular lens and I would have been happy. They thought too much about machining the phone. Smoke and mirrors approach....this phone looks great but it gets hot and the battery isn't better than the M8. However, it looks great!

Lens cover...my mistake is horrible.

I'll at least give them credit for using Sapphire glass. Also with regards to the shape, it isn't much different than what Samsung has done with the square lens cover and what Nokia did with the 808 Pureview, so I don't see what the fuss is about regarding the shape.

People just HAVE to have something to complain about. Some people just have no life, I guess. I wish I could do that kind of thing.....go over the S6 forum and just spend my day there, arguing with people about how the phone in question sucks, even though I don't actually own the phone in question.......actually no I don't. What phone brand do you use and do you think they make the best phone available?

I was using a 6plus up to last week and now I have a note 4.

Who argues about a phone nobody wants. What? There is like 10 people on this forum with an M9. I hardly think anyone with an M7/M8 will have a care in the world. Especially with the camera and battery life of the M9 being like the M7/M8...LOL. The M9 is the first flagship people would hand back after getting it for free in the mail. We are very proud that a grown man or child has an M9 and posted pictures to show the M8's screen looks far better than the M9. Petvas got his M9 and wasn't pleased with it. He is someone I respect and I think everyone who read your review of the phone think that you are trying to blow happy thoughts up people behinds. Just sounds too good to be true. Guess you can expect that coming from someone who cracked their M8.

If my phone cracked I would have a replacement in a heartbeat. Secondly, I take care of my M7/M8. Guess those who can afford two phones at a time actually take care of flagship devices and don't have a need to purchase the same phone for a third straight year.

I have a family with 3 M7s eligible for upgrade on Sprint. I am waiting a few months for the price of the M9 on contract to go down to $35 on Amazon, just like the M8 HK and other M8s did after 4 months. Then it will be a bargain. Or if HTC gives $100 rebate for trade in of old HTC phones like it did for the M7s, then that would sway me to buy sooner. M7 is still a good phone, but the camera is just terrible, and the M9 camera HAS to be better. I have zero problems with the M8 camera.

When reviewers get the phone it is not a version that will be released in the states. Typically the software and even hardware can be different and that's why allot of reviewers state that you should wait until the US version launches.

Battery life...could be a few different things but I'm betting on software. Why would my G3 start having battery problems after lollipop? Why does the s6 also lack in the battery department? The s6 doesn't use the 810 either. People want a magic phone with a 5+ inch hi rez screen and all this software. You do realize that the size of battery that would be required would be ridiculously large. It's in though to hate the bad guy M9 for battery..me i think it's fine. I get through the day 12 hours then charge.

The camera....I'm not sure there could be more photography experts out there that look at pics and then pick them apart..actual photos from the M9 are actually not to bad. On fact some are great. Is it as good as the s6 or notable others? No and they know it. Is it great for social media and sharing photos with friends? Hell yeah it is.

It gets hot. It gets cold..the lens...the metal...man it's one thing to own a device and comment good or bad and do it in a constructive way but many people are excited about their new device and others depend on real actual users to give accurate feedback. The ones who watch every tech review are no doubt looking for any chink in the armor to attack and make htc or potential buyers feel bad or second guess themselves. Grow up

I have enjoyed my m8 and changed in between with my flex 2. It's a wonderful piece of engineering.
