I'm using HTC Sense 5 and Android 4.3. I'm not a fan at all of the crap AT&T makes me have on my phone like games and junk. What is the process for reformatting this phone and is it difficult?

Read this, but , if your bootloader hboot is on 1.55 or .154 which ever it may be , I don't know if there is a process to unlock it yet or not. Read in the XDA forums and the link.[Tutorial] Root, Unlock, Recovery and flashing a Custom ROM - xda-developers

You can always use HTCDEV to unlock the bootloader or use wizzrah toolkit

Scotts is my Home...lol, I have did CleanROMs on a few devices ( EVO 3D, EVO 4G LTE HTC ONE )

Ok back on topic...lol

Oh Jesus! I'm lost. I'll forget about doing this. With my luck I'll screw up and be left with a beautiful brick.

Lost with how you guys are explaining this stuff. The terms and such. Not exactly my thing I guess.

There's only one way to learn. 8 months ago when I got the One (my first android phone) I hadn't flashed a custom ROM on a device since my Treo 650. With a few hours of reading and some of the really useful tools others have put together you can quickly grasp the basics. Now I'm starting to figure out how to do things by hand.

The bottom line is, this stuff isn't rocket science and if you're willing to put in some time, you can figure it out.

Also, ask questions! You've got some people right here who can assist or point you to the right info.

Research or ask. Simple as that. What, when, why. Plus we're also here. You could just ask us! There's no reason you should do this rushed, so take your time and do the process right!

Yup there are a ton of videos on YouTube that show you exactly what your need to do. It was scary the first time I did it too.
