HTC One questions potential adopter

Okay, the last Android phone I ever had was the HTC Evo V 4G) from Virgin Mobile a couple years ago(switched to BB10, a move I dont regret and wish I could stay) and was planning on getting the HTC One M8 whenever my two years is up in April. (end long intro paragraph)

What should I still be familiar with from both my old HTC and my bb10, and what ne things have come?

Welcome to Android Central! That's a really hard question to answer in just a forum post. How about reviewing Google's own KitKat site, which describes a lot of the features: Android - 4.4 KitKat

It is kinda late to get the M8 now, as it is only a matter of a couple of months until the new HTC is released (M9/Hima) which should be on March.
