HTC One Rear Camera won't activate

My camera app wont even open it comes up with unable to start so dont know what problem it is so anyone else have this problem. And i have htc one mini

Thanks for the advice. Just done the soft reset on my HTC Desire 500 and worked a treat. Had to open in safe mode first but then came back ok

The first procedure was working for me. Just to let know that in Step 4 it is sufficient to choose any unimportant application from the list and then follow the procedure.

If u reinstall the software is it possible for it to work

If anyone was wondering, had to send my phone in for replacement. HTC diagnosed the problem and said the camera module was "fried".

Hope no one else has this problem...

Me too have the same problem....

Hi all, I am new here and I came in just to search for help to fix the HTC ONE M9 camera.

To the person who suggested - Here's a funny thing..try opening the camera in landscape as you launch". I want to give you a big hug. Thank you so much . It worked for me.

I also have other camera apps and they worked fine despite the stock camera being down.

My mobile is HTC 820 desire my front camera is working but the back camera is not,,,,,, when I open setting then apps I cannot see the icon for camera

Had mine for 3 years and all good. Changed battery recently and back camera (not selfie) disappeared. Same as you, the selection between front and back cams also disappeared. Cam tab in settings no longer has drop down where the cam selection was. Only selfie cam works. Bad news to get from you but thanks for the info. Have tried everything in the last 2 weeks but concluded that it was time for a new one. Like you said .......
