What do the letters mean? For instance what does HTC One 801S mean?

In a nutshell they are all the GSM based version of the HTC One. So they can be used on GSM networks internationally or locally in the states on T Mobile or AT & T.

The HTC One S is seen in the US, while the " E " and " N " versions I believe were let lose in regions like India and other countries but at the end of the day still the same device, on the GSM network.
