HTC One - Sound trouble - speaker seems to lose all bass

Since yesterday my phone has been having sound issues. The volume randomly gets messed up. It sounds as if there is no more bass in the speakers and it's just all treble. I can still hear it but it's not nearly as loud as it normally is. However, when I watch a video and Beats comes on, it works fine. Then, after the video, once Beats is off again, the speakers work fine for a while until it randomly gets messed up again. I have no idea what this is from. I haven't changed any settings on my phone - it started randomly.

No, none. Unless Pandora and SoundCloud count?

I'm having a similar problem on speaker phone calls. If I turn the volume up past 50% all the bass disappears. I can still hear and the volume is louder, but it is so treble it hurts to listen so it must be turned down again and then the bass returns. All sound profiles are stock. Anyone have a solution or an idea?
