HTC One: This is THE BUG Thread.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

My capacitive buttons light sometimes, don't light sometimes and flicker sometimes.
I figured out how to fix the problem. I called Att and asked about returning it for a replacement. Ever since then no problem. Go figure.:p

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Has anyone noticed any problems with launching the Amazon App Store on their HTC One? It launches for me, but just displays the "AmazonApps" log but no place to log in or view anything else (just a black screen).

Darkneo said: Anyone else getting random reboots? It's in my pocket and when I pull it out I see an error window saying it restarted and to send error report. Some settings actually change after a reboot.

This sounds like the power button is being pressed in your pocket. Holding power for about 30 seconds is a system reset, after which, it gives you that window (so you can report whatever happened, that made you want to reset it, to HTC) and resets many system (but not app) settings.

I called Amazon about this and they told me that it's a known bug in their app affecting several phones and tablets (mostly hi-res devices) and that they are working on a fix. Called last Thursday.. Check for updates periodically.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

App association: you'll need to go to Settings > Apps > find the app that opens automatically (don't forget you might need to swipe left or right to a different list) > scroll down to where it says clear defaults. Press it.

Next time you perform an action you'll get a choice.

Yeah I emailed them and they told me the same thing. Older versions work and someone posted a link to an older APK over on XDA that works.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

There are a few threads on this, the old version apk is posted in the thread, if you install it and don't update it when prompted, you can at least get your apps till amazon fixes this

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

OK, this is my first Android phone so not sure if what I am reporting is a bug:

When on a call using the speakerphone, the phone goes to sleep and the only way to wake it is to press the power button, which also disconnects my call. I spend hours a day on conference calls, and need to be able to mute and unmute my phone repeatedly, so this clearly will not work for me if this is the way it is supposed to function. I cannot find any setting that tells the phone to stay awake during calls...am I just not finding it?

EDIT #2: OK, solved this one - there is a default setting in Accessibility: Power Button Ends Calls - this is checked by default (which is RIDICULOUS imo)...I just unchecked that and no problem waking phone during calls now.

Second issue is that I can't seem to find any way to distinguish between text notifications and email notifications, as I want the alerting to be different. i.e. I want my text/SMS notifications to play a sound, but I DON'T want new emails to play a sound. (I am using the Gmail app, not the native mail client). EDIT #1: I figured this one out in the Gmail app so this is solved

Genius! Thx

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I got my first dropped call yesterday. As soon as the call dropped, an ungodly loud "BEEP" came out of the phones speaker and into my ear. This was not the in call speaker volume, this was a full blast speaker volume directly into my ear. My ear was ringing and hurting all day. I am almost afraid to use the phone again in case a call drops. Anyone know how to fix this?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Here's a couple I've dealt with...
Firstly, What the crap is up with the 5 hour charge time??? Second, If you shoot video in slow motion you better be outside in Midday light cause if not there is rolling bars during the video (I've reproduced this defect on 6 htc ones) Third, Unlike the previous post from someone else I have multiple apps in one space and it does not go away with a reboot. Have to manually drag them to other screens or remove from home screen. No deal breakers but these are a little annoying.

Just curious, not trolling, why would you want to record video in slow motion? Can't you just record it in regular speed then play it back in slow motion if you want it that way? I'm no video expert so I'm just curious if there is a reason for that.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

My wifes One will not send SMS consistently. Most of the time messages will not send, but will OCCASIONALLY. I tried to send SMS, failed, then sent MMS with picture and went right through. Spent a couple of hours on with Sprint Tech support (one chat, on phone call) to no avail through multiple network, PRL and other updates. Took in to the Sprint store and thought we had it fixed. The rep said that sometimes on some new phones on other networks a 1+ area code is needed, not simply area code + number. This did not explain texts to number on same account not working, but it worked at the store to multiple numbers on multiple networks after adding 1+. Went home and quit working again. Performed a factory reset last night, did not help. She sent me a text from a church parking lot this morning at it went through, went home, tried again and failed to send. We have an Airave booster, and I wonder if that is non compliant with the new device?

That is an excellent find. I've had HTC devices for 6 years and that's a new one for me, though I will say mine wasn't checked by default.

I'm having the exact same issue, but I know what my problem is... sort of. I have an Airave, too. When I'm home I have the problem. I can receive without issue, but sending is not an option. If I leave the house it's fine. I don't think it's an HTC thing as I have had a little more success this morning so it may have something to do with extremely long provisioning times from the network. The support guy on the phone told me that the Airave has some issues playing with LTE devices so I disabled LTE at home. I didn't see an immediate difference, but again, I have seen it work a little better today. If you unplug the Airave you will see the problem go away instantly. As for the +1 that's a load of crap. I hate the +1 and turn it off immediately. It is not required to make a call and never has been on a cell phone. At least not in the 15 years I've been carrying one on the the 6 carriers I've used.

I kinda thought the same regarding the 1+, but it seemed to fix the problem at the store, so I went with it until i got home and the problem returned. So you just switched off the LTE radio on the One? Will have a go and see if we fixed it! Thanks.

I don't think it really did, but who knows?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Maybe not a "bug" but an RFE - I would like to allow Facebook feeds in my BlinkFeed, but I do NOT want Facebook pics in my Gallery. Ever.
