Htc one tips and tricks

I love Google gesture search!!!
You can even have it in the notification drawer... When you set it up, it lets you select what you want it to search. I have it set up for contacts primarily because I have a lot and it makes it easy to find who I'm looking for!

How do you get it on the notification bar?

For those of you coming from iPhones or anyone who group texts with iPhones, you can group MMS just like you can on the iPhone. Go to Messages>Menu>Settings>Multimedia messages (MMS)>Group Messaging - if that box is checked, your phone will send group messages as MMS. It keeps your conversations clean. I love it! Now I don't have to use Go SMS.

I tried this and it did not work. The one iphone user responded, and I got no messages from him, but the other guy in the thread did. Any ideas?

Search for "Gesture Search Bar" in the play store. Once you've install the gesture search app, this will let it show up in your notification drawer.

iOS Developer trying the HTC One - my first foray over to 'the dark side' :P
Best hardware on the market. Beautiful design (I call it the Macbook Phone). Speakers are awesome! Though low volume hissing when using headphones at low volume is a serious bummer, especially with podcasts.
Anyway here's my tip/trick.. found a really cool app that will save wear on the power button. Let's you wake the screen just by moving the device, even has the option to use the proximity sensor.
Set mine so that a wave over the screen turns on. Sweet!
No affiliation just super delighted and not missing my iOS home button anymore.

How is that on your battery?

I will show you my setup. First go check the box in settings. Also, make sure you have put your number in where it asks you to 'Enter your phone number for group messages'

Next, in the message, add multiple recipients and send a message. Make sure you don't have the box for individual messages checked.

And you should be able to group MMS with the rest of them!

Does anybody have a way to create a shortcut to toggle beats audio on and off without going into settings, ie a widget on the home screen?

Not noticed any impact whatsoever, though it must use some.
When I first got the One was initially dismayed as didnt seem to last long at all. But battery definitely seems to get better after a day or twos use. Regularly see's me through 8 hours of heavy web and video use no problem. I have a variety of battery savers running - but who knows if they really do much eh. Used HTC's own settings to slow CPU and dim screen a bit which helps.
Charging takes an age but that's the price of a big screen I guess compared to say my 5th Gen iPod Touch which seems to take all of 40 minutes from 0-100%.

My message settings screen is missing half of what you have. No Roaming Auto-Retrieve, no Priority, no connection settings...and my max message size caps at 1000K

Any ideas there?

I've been looking for this ability since I got the phone. I've posted here and on XDA and neither got any replies, so I'm guessing nobody has taken the time to figure it out yet.
