HTC One V - Help with battery

Hey guys, I want to make an mobile battery charger to my phone and what I want to do is basically hook up some regular batteries on a usb cable so I can just use as a emergency battery to my phone. The problem is I don't know how much volts should I use, I can do a 3.0v or a 4.5v with those regular batteries but I heard that 4.5v is too high and I don't know if 3.0v is too low can u guys help me

Just buy an external battery. But if you must know, a typical wall charger I think charges at 4.5 volts.
