HTC One vs. Samsung Galaxy S4?

Hi guys, quite a n00b here, I was a blackberry user first and then got my iPhone 5, anyway, they stole my iPhone 5 at a concert after 4 months of use (my mistake), however, I got really hooked up after using a friend's Galaxy S3 a while.

I don't plan on returning tu iPhone, I've been loving Android in the spare time I can play around one. Sorry for all the background story, I just wanted to know which would you recommend to a new guy like me, thought of the nexus4 but I need way more than 16 gigs of space, HTC One looked delightful with the new screen and bad-ass camera, including the beats audio system (happens I need the space for music), but I know the S4 is also high quality stuff, also looked at the Xperia Z but didn't get totally convinced.

(I know everyone recommends stock Android vs all other, and I don't know the difference between HTC, Xperia and Samsung interfaces, but waiting for the next nexus phone is not an option)

Can anyone take sometime to clear my head? Thank you!

If you need way more space then I would either consider getting a 64 Gb phone or one with an SD card slot..

I'd narrow your search to those to start with. Hopefully some of the really knowledgeable people will be along shortly. Good luck in your search though.

Thank you a lot! I meant just the extra 16 gigs would do fine, like 32 gigs is fine for me. If you have any personal recommendation I'm open to anything, got a few weeks still to make a pick.

Lost in all the sturm und drang is the fact that we live in a golden age of Android phones, and pretty much any choice you make is going to be a pretty good one. Especially as compared to a few years ago.

Hell I know! Been recently investigating on everything I could, I found everyone to recommend one of those 4 phones (Nexus4, S4, Xperia Z or HTC One), however, do you know which difference on Interface exists between them ? (I know Nexus4 is stock one)

The one has sense. S4-touchwiz. Sony has there own interface similar to motos.

Thank you, can you briefly describe any special features or downsides of each?

I'm torn. The main thing that's pushing me towards the One is the Beats audio. I'm a big Beats guy with headphones, laptop, and speakers. Some may say its overrated but I love it regardless.

I haven't owned a Samsung phone yet and wanted to give it a try since the S3. With talks of the One possibly getting a big delay or not even coming at all to Verizon might push me to get the S4 on release day.

Have you seen this link? It might help you make a decision possibly - Verizon HTC One Release Date Pegged for March

Re: Interested in HTC ONE?

Same boat here, I'm torn at this point. The only downfall for the one is it doesn't ship with 4.2.

My new 4.2.2 radios is rock solid. Hell even my 4.1 stock radios was good. I avg about 3mb of lte in my basement in Chicago. I basically want the s4 because of the hardware. 1.9 quad looks awesome.

Yeah the 1.9 quad looks awesome alright, meanwhile on the Verge's first hands on at the event the S4 was lagg central. unacceptable for a flagship phone. in every single video ive seen on the HTC One everything is smooth and fluid, with no lag in sight.

Ive never been a fan of htc phones. Too many problems with my friends phones. I always wanted to get the s3 but now that the s4 is here i might settle for that when i am due for my upgrade

tough call for me, but it's definitely going to be one or the other. i LOVED my Evo 4G, which i got on launch day. as it got older, however, it had an odd "memory leak", and that disappointment me. i upgraded to the S2, which i have enjoyed, but not loved, and now am extremely disappointed in and frustrated with because of the AWFUL battery life and the somewhat fried charging system as a result of some bad updates last summer.

so, it's a dilemma for me, because i've been reading great things about both. i use my phone a ton, and use data a ton, so i suppose battery life between charges is one of the most important things to me. i guess i'll wait and see how the various testing goes, and make a decision from there.
