You are correct it's in high demand....
Kind of like McDonald's... A brand that is trusted and many people know the name...
This makes for high sales but in the end it doesn't mean you get the best hamburger. This topic is regarding the award for being the top phone available for the first half of the year.

Just an observation, but I think there is most likely a distinct difference between Phonedog readers and "consumers". People who are invested enough in mobile tech to bother to register and vote on a site such as Phonedog are probably not a completely accurate representation of what the average joe consumer is buying. A lot of them tend to go with their previously owned brand (iPhone, Galaxy) or off the recommendation of the sales rep, and in my recent experience (at least with AT&T) the reps have been pushing the S4 pretty hard. But only time and sales figures will tell.
