HTC One won't hard reset

I'm stuck on the HTC Quietly brilliant splash screen. I've tried hard resetting all the ways possible. I've held down just the power button for over 30 seconds and held down the power button and the lower volume button for even longer. I've even tried putting it under a bright light and tried both ways as well but nothing. Still stuck. Anybody else have any suggestions? Should I just wait for it to run out of battery?

If your phone is currently on, press and hold the power button until it power off. Then follow the instructions for a factory reset using hardware buttons. If the menu gives you the choice of "Wipe Cache Partition," try doing that first instead of "Factory Reset," since it might solve your problem without erasing all of your personal data.
