HTC One X shut-down

Sorry, but that sounds bad. Mine has crashed like that a couple times, but usually no more than a 30min charge and it will start up again as long as it's plugged in.

HIYA,
I've had my one x for about 8 months now and about 2 weeks ago it started shutting down when ever it wanted to, holding the power button down did nothing so the only way to restart the phone is to connect it to a power supply and the restart it, from there the phone always starts up on the date 01/01/11 and stays that way until it connects to internet, messages that come thru show the same date of 01/01/11 so at the moment everyday is happy new year to me lol...... any one else heard of this at all???

Thanks

How long are you holding down the power button? It generally takes a "9 count".
Also, when you finally get it restarted, what is the battery level?

It could be that you are seeing the mysterious rapid battery drain and mistaking that for a simple shut down.

After a couple weeks of no deaths, my phone died today. It seems to happen when I go to a place a couple towns over. Weird...

Mine died yesterday, for the 4th time. 1st 2 times were in first month (May). I watched what they did and took care of the third near-death experience on my own.

Now, no charging or notification light even when plugged in, unable to reboot, hook up to the hard drive, or factory reset. This time, no help at the AA&T store - just advised to call customer service, pay my $199 (!) deductible on insurance for a new phone.

The problem is: why would I want the same device?

Try holding down the power button and volume controls at the same time...the lights on the bottom will flash and then reboot!
