I totally agree with what some people are saying about the S3. The materials its made from are shocking. The build quality is even worse. I'm on my third S3 and everyone has had a slightly deformed stand by button . The volume rocker button is equally as bad. The brushed metal surround is poor as well. The quality of the grinding wheel to produce the brushed effect must have been of a very poor quality.
As I have mentioned , I have had three S3 handsets. All the have had major software issues. Systems affected are - browsing, messaging, screen, notifications. My ringer only works when it wants, and the S voice turns on when my phone is sitting six ferry away from me.
My advice would be to stay away from Samsung's galaxy range. Previously to my several S3 handsets, I had a Galaxy Europa which got exchanged seven times in a year along with several repairs . You have been warned. Samsung's software reliability is shocking, as it's their build quality. After all, what's the point of having a top spec phone if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Never again will I by any Samsung product. Unfortunately they're are developing a fan base like Apple's iphone. People are blindly following them because it's fashionable name. Just like the iphones, they are overpriced for the type of product you get. Especially considering the software issues, build quality and their poor plasticky and toy like materials. Whatever you do, don't drop one. In fact save yourself the heartache and don't by one.
My recommendations for good android handsets would be, Sony for reliability of software and HTC for build quality. But both are very competent in these areas.
You have been warned about the monstrosities that are the Samsung Galaxy range. Don't buy them. You will be disappointed and underwhelmed. (And to top it all, I've just discovered that the word underwhelmed ain't even in Samsung's dictionary. Wonder why that is) !!!!
