htc or samsung

Depends on a few things.

HTC - you can root or ROM without voiding the warranty, unlckable bootloader on all carriers.

Samsung - replaceable battery, S-Pen on the Note series.

I want an HTC with an S-Pen and a replaceable battery (and I'm on AT&T, which Samsung locks the bootloader on), so both.

Thanks I like having a battery I can take out. That is important to me.

HTC...

The removable battery always was important to me but since I got my m8 it hasn't been.

What is important is the reception I get and I have had to root every Samsung phone and switch radios on them. The HTC has had the best reception I have ever had on any phone.

I find the M8 way overrated. People say it looks great but I don't buy phones for looks and it's so slippery you might need a case anyways. It does have a great UI and excellent speakers but that's it IMO. Compared to the Note 4 which has a QHD Display, better colors and contrasts for reading, amoled works great in sunlight, multi-tasking, removable battery, faster cpu, better gpu, water resistant and don't forget the S pen which people underestimate all the stuff it can do.

I don't get the removable battery thing...why do people want that feature?

Ditto on the slippery HTC back, I picked it up and put it down just as fast, there's absolutely nothing I like about it. Looking at the M9 though, would definitely have to go skin or case for sure.

2 Reasons really:

1. It allows you to go from 0% charge to 100% charge in 30-60 seconds, the amount of time it takes to swap in a fresh battery.

2. It allows you to replace a worn out battery that can no longer retain a charge properly. As you know, batteries can only accept so many charge/discharge cycles before they wear out.

I haven't used an HTC since having the Thunderbolt as my first HTC experience, and it was the first 4G on VZW......what a disaster that phone was as I am sure many of you can attest too.

I have used Samsung ever since that phone.....and I do also agree that the removable battery is a must and should be in all phones.....example, prior to getting my Note 4, I was using a Note 2 and the battery was dying long before I was ready to upgrade to Note 4, so I bought a new battery popped it in and good as new! Now when my hubby's Note 2 (that he is still using) battery goes bad, he can put that one in his phone.

And finally, SPEN, SPEN, SPEN, LOVE IT and my NOTE 4!!! Enough said! LOL

Samsung NOTE series FTW!!
Using my NOTE 3 for about half a year and i lllllove it.
Before buying it i was choosing between One Max and Note3. Its so great that i didnt buy HTC (not because its bad, but because NOTE 3 is good)

Another that I really, really like is never having to tether the phone to a charging cable. Instead it's always free to be used at any time any where. One last big one too is I don't have a single worry about how hard I use the phone because that spare (or spares if I choose) is always at the ready to get back to a full charge in minutes (ex. can't discharge a full battery faster than the spare charges). Rinse and repeat as often as you wish. Invaluable! :)
I agree but, I guess everyone has to do what works for them..... but with that said, It truly doesn't make sense to me that any of the companies make the phones that way these days!I Especially in a day and age that Smart Phones are soooo widely used now and the amount of time people spend on them based on "ALL" you can do on a smart phone now, that does eat up the battery!!

Guess an alternative for those with embedded batteries, can carry a portable charger. I actually do carry one of those in my purse, but to this day have never had to use it.

People like removable batteries because you can buy extra batteries and carry them with you if you are going on a long trip and won't be near an outlet. So nice tomhabe for a long car trip. You could watch movies on full brightness or play games the entire time and not have to worry about conserving your battery.

Are there actually people who don't have car chargers? I don't get it with this replacement thing, it's like people are getting ready for a trip to the Himalayas or something.
