I sent my phone in to have the screen replaced after a massive 12" drop and after they had it for two weeks I finally got it back. The screen looks perfect however when they repaired it they broke the GPS! They must have messed the contacts up or something when they put it back together.

So if you send you phone in for service make sure and check everything when you get it back. HTC won't send me a loaner phone out either, they just said sorry and we'll fix it. Guess that's all I can ask for at this point.

That's unfortunate. The tear down for this phone is unfortunately not an easy one, and I can see how mistakes could be made. I am glad they are fixing it. Will they be paying the shipping costs and such?

I assume this was with you paying for the screen replacement to begin with?

Yes they are paying for shipping both ways. And yes I paid for the screen replacement. I also need to buy a backup phone as I sold the one I was using after I got this back!
It's really frustrating because it was stuck in testing for several days while they supposedly were verifying everything works.

I just pictured a small Korean boy sitting around playing games on your phone for a few days before they sent it back to you..

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Like Jennifer said the tear down looks difficult. I remember sending my old HTC to Hong Kong as I had a Indian model and Australian HTC contracted repairers couldnt touch it. The Hong Kong did a great job for $30ish + shipping one way I got new digitiser, a new house case and express shipping back. Maybe its just a one off.
