HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) - video first look

For the life of me I can't understand the dual color rear cover. It would have been SO much more classy with all one color plus the aluminum.

I'll play with one when it reaches retail. If its $499 like all of T-mobile's other off-contract phones, I might pick one up to replace my G2X.

I hope it doesn't exceed $499. I'll also be picking up mine off contract.

It definitely looks nice. Not sure it'll get me to switch from the G2X, though. I wouldn't use Sense anyway, but a few of the features are awesome. Dual mics, and instant capture in the camera.

I would be shocked if it does. T-mobile seems to like to keep their no-contract prices low for tech heads like us. If it is more, I would bet it would be $549.

I dont care for any of the sense stuff I saw on the video personally.
I dont care about movies.
And did I see that it will have a proprietary charging plug (not again?).
She said it was an HDMI and charging port ?

That just might kill it for me, mini USB seems to be the standard charging port now.

Its 14.4. No big loss though. The number of markets that actually have 21 is TINY.

Ok no new contract with the Sensation then.
Tampa is 21mbps and Orlando is 42.

I just am not caring for the new HTC sense stuff anyways.

And all that movie crap they have on there....no thanks.

I do prefer vanilla Android personally since I dont root and mod my phones.

That Sammysung thats hitting in Sept is to be 42mbps 4G.

What speeds do you see on a regular basis with your MT4G?

I'll have to check it on speedtest.
I"m skeerd to root so I cant post a screen shot from the MT4G.
(me=public enemy #1 for electronics)
Havent tried it with the G2X either.
The G2X must have a poor antenna setup, the sorry data reception I get
with it at work just really torques me off.

Well, I mean, your speeds between a 21mbps phone and a 14.4 mbps phone aren't going to be that different. It will be for a 42 phone, but again, no guarantee that you're going to notice a massive difference. (keep in mind all of those speeds are theoretical)

Not to rain on anyone's parade here but I don't see the point in being in an HSPA+ area with >21mbps when only one device supports it. That goes to the lousy Galaxy S 4G. To bad HTC didn't make our sensation capable of 42mbps.
