I think it comes down to personal preference. I had the Samsung Galaxy S 4G which doesn't hold a candle to the upcoming Galaxy S2 and I didn't find the UI very appealing. I also found it to very laggy. This of course is my opinion but I like HTC phones better than Samsung. I really liked HTC sense. I found it to be very fast and intuitive. The Sensation has a total of 4GB of storage with only 1GB of storage available to the user. Why on earth they need 3GB I'll never quite understand. I really don't think this is going to be an issue for anyone because more and more apps are supporting SD cards. It still baffles me why HTC couldn't give this phone at least 4GB or 8GB of internal storage. Oh well. This might be pretty much the only negative thing about the phone.

Still can't wait to pick up mine launch day :D

well for me by looking at both phones i will be going with the sensation. i love sense 3.0 and think it is far superior than touchwiz 4.0. and fr me i rather the look of the sensation.

Pick your poison: Sense 3.0 or TouchWiz 4.0.

The experience otherwise should be pretty similar

Personally I have the Nexus S right not with stock never rooted phone. My previous phones were Nexus One and G1 so I've been an Android fun and like the pure Android experience, but since I saw sense 3.0 I really like it and love the sensation. Sorry to say after 4 months of the NS I'm looking forward to the sensation. I hate the fact that it only has 4GB and only 1GB of RAM for users and why not 1GB of ROM instead of 768. O well I still like the phone and even though I liked the original galaxy S, I'm going to have to pick the Sensation. I wish Summer was here already.

sense 3.0

I'm with you with that. Samsung's skin is just amateurish. The design isn't even terrible, but they always choose the worst colors. I played with the 3.0 equipped Charge, and in one of the pop-up menus the ENTIRE menu was bright orange for no reason at all. I mean, seriously!

The SGS2 looks better, but not hugely better.

I think the GS2 is a better looking phone, but I like HTC more as a manufacturer. They are more likely to update the phone beyond Gingerbread.

Based purely on a spec sheet I would get the GS2.

Based on personal preference I would have to go with the Sensation though (but you'd have to pry the G2X out of my cold, dead hand :) ).

I agree.

So ya got rid of your myTouch ): ?

Yes I did. It's up for sale as we speak. It's a great phone but dual core is the future and I hate being left in the past LOL. I have zero complaints about the myTouch 4G.

Case in point...we're here discussing two awesome dual core phones. Both of which have the potential (we already know the SGS2 does) to make the mighty tegra 2 look slow. It's all relative, though, because "slow" in this case isn't slow at all. :)
