Why cant the Evo open youtube videos on the phone video player instead of the that crappy htc sense flash player. I mean if I see a youtube video embedded on a web page i would like to be able to play and watch the video on the video media player instead of flash player

If it's a youtube video, then you can make it play with youtube.
However, if it's a flash video, then HTC's flash lite player will open.

Go to menu-->settings-->applications-->HTC Flash player-->clear defaults
........menu-->settings-->applications-->Youtube-->clear defaults

Next time it should ask you which app you want to open the video with.

Hmm. Then that means no application uses it to open on default. Either way, try to open a video. Does it ask you to choose which app to open?

Do the clear defaults thing just for YouTube then. You may be tryingto view a flash video and not a YouTube one.

when i go to m.youtube.com and try to watch a video it takes me straight to htc flash player, it doesn't give me the option.

Now when I use xScope browser it does give me the option, the only thing is that xScope doesn't flash video content when they are embedded on a web page

it probably has something to do with youtubes new mobile webpage which apparently runs in HTML5
