HTC Shooter Emerges = EVO 3D? Gingerbread-based Dual-Core

I can't remember where I saw the benchmarks, but the Snapdragon that was benchmarked in the HTC shooter performed rather poorly compared the TI's OMAP and Nvidia Tegra 2.

Benchmark Shows HTC Pyramid’s Dual-Core Snapdragon Can’t Best Tegra 2 | Android Phone Fans

Above, perhaps?

I know nothing of this stuff, but the commentary in the article points out that this Snapdragon was in a preproduction version of the pyramid, and may not have been running software/firmware that was optimized for that Snapdragon chip. Or at least that's how I interpret what they say, this stuff isn't my expertise.

Those scores do look pretty sad, I hope it really is just a case of the pre production flutters!

Don't worry about the said numbers from the review site. Someone very close with this project has already said that the tri channel DDR was not working properly on the preproduction runs. This phone is going to be a monster! Will be sad when I retire my Evo to my son, but at the same time, the Evo 3D is going to be real fun!

To those that think you HAVE to wear glasses for the 3D, it is NOT true! The screen will be a autostereoscopic screen just like the one Nintendo is using for the DSi 3D.

Sweet....is it tuesday yet? I hope the phones at CTIA will be fully operational and running on all cylinders, and hopefully one of the tech bloggers will manage to run a few tests on one!

I will be getting the htc evo 3d for sure..For those saying dual core doesnt matter yea right..Its like having 2 guys with 4 hands doing one job instead of 1 guy with 2 hands doing one job..Seee what i mean? So yea the dual core is going to be amazing imo and just some of the specs along is down right sick. As of the new the htc evo is the best phone out but woo wait untill the 3d drops..TOTALLY WICKED

Does anyone know how much the phone will be with a new 2 yr through sprint? I am eligible in 2 weeks and don't know whether to get the evo or wait til june and get the evo 3d...suggestions? I currently have a palm pre, and while it still functions as a phone, its laggy as hell. I can certainly pain my way through a wait but at what cost? If the phone in june is gonna be 250-300 with an 2 year upgrade i may say screw it and get the evo instead. what do you guys think/suggest? thanks.

personally, I would wait. I wouldn't buy last years phone, as great as the EVO is, with this beast coming in a couple months.

Wait unitil June.

It was just confirmed that the EVO 3d will be the first phone compatible with Wimax and LTE. So definetly wait.

Yes Bluescreen is a very trusted source. He came around last year right before the original EVO was announced and he was pin point accurate with everything he said.

You can pretty much count on the Evo 3D being exactly what he is saying.

Ok, great. Thanks guys. I guess I'll just wait until pricing is announced to make an ultimate decision. If it is within my price range I'll wait. But if it is outrageously priced I may have to get the Evo as a cheaper option.

Hey new to the android community :)

I, like many others on this thread, have a palm pre right now (I'm actually typing this on my phone).

I'm most likely going to switch to the evo 3D as well because of all the apps and the customization options, even though I'll miss cards and just type :( I wanted to get the pre 3 originally but these specs made me never look back.

Can't wait for the announcement tomorrow!
