HTC Sync 3.0

I just purchase a EVO on Nov 24th and installed HTC Sync 3.0 on my Windows XP SP3 desktop computer.

It was working yesterday (Nov 25th), but today it will not display the USB connection type on the EVO. When I plug-in the EVO the PC makes the connection sound that a device has been connected.

I have uninstall the HTC Sync software, driver installer, and BMP USB Driver, then reinstalled and still will the HTC Sync software will not make connections with the EVO. Any ideas?

Make sure you have a good usb connection. There's been a big discussion on the so so usb port connectors on the Evos.

Do you get the screen on your EVO that let's you select HTC sync? If not after plunging in to your PC slid down the notifications bar on your EVO you will see charge only tap that then chose HTC sync.

When I plug the USB cable into the EVO a red light comes on in the ear speaker and the battery icon in the top bar has a lightning bolt.

No

It states "No notifications"

Ok, I got it to work!!

I did two things and I don't know which was the magic bullet, but I...
1. Powered off the phone and then powered it on.
2. I launched Microsoft Outlook on my PC. I did not have it up and running before.
