I cant get my pc to find the thunderbolt using htc sync app. Any help woulfd be appreciated.

I don't think it needs HTC sync. Have u tried going to the support section at HTC.com for the thunderbolt?

The same thing had happened to me. If I remember correctly, I was able to get it to work when I opened HTC Sync up on my PC first and then connected my Bolt.

You have probably already done this stuff but here are tips from HTC's site.

Tips:

If you cannot see the HTC Sync option when you connect your phone to the computer via USB, please follow the

Instructions below:

1. Make sure you select USB Debugging in Settings > Applications > Development before connecting your phone to the computer

2. Connect you Phone to the PC and wait 20 seconds for your phone to install HTC Sync on your phone.

3. Unplug the USB sync cable. Wait for 5 seconds. Reconnect the Phone to the PC using the USB cable.

4. Select ?HTC sync? and wait for HTC Sync to recognize your Phone. This process could take up to a minute your first

time connecting to the computer.

Me too, and here's what HTC had to say...

I called HTC because my laptop and TBolt can't see each other. I'm running Vista Business.

After many different attemted fixes with her on the phone she finally said VZ VCast can interfere with some programs. Getting VZ to remove this solves the problem about half the time.

She basically said there are compatibility issues with some programs and that they can't figure out which ones. She also implied that they never will. She tried to get me to use the Disk Drive connection, which also does not work on this computer.

Fortunately I have a desktop computer that will recognize my TBolt as a disk drive and I can transfer music and pics that way. If I didn't have another computer I would be screwed.

I had HTC Sync installed on my computer, had it open, and I still have to use USB Debugging in Settings to get the computer to recognize my phone in HTC Sync. If I turn off the USB Debugging, it won't work.Perhaps the OP will find that leaving that setting turned on will help out.

I tried sync last night for the first time. Works perfectly on my Windows 7 Home Premium desktop with my phone in HTC Sync mode and USB debugging on.
