HTC Sync fails

Ive downloaded v3.05511 of HTC sync for my Thunderbolt so that i can sync it with my outlook contacts, but it doesnt seem to be recognizing it. HTC sync simply says there isnt a device, and my phone says i do not have HTC Sync. I am using the correct cable.

Thoughts?

You may want to try selecting "USB debugging" in your settings. I can only get HTC Sync to work on my pc with that setting turned on.

Truth is it was never meant to work so that might explain some of the problems

I'm sick of **** failing. In this case HTC Sync. Did U know that HTC sync will fail if you upgrade the Adobe Air version from 6.X to 7.0, etc? In which U have 2 uninstall the 7 version all together or @ least go back to V.6. Grrrrr.

I haven't connected my thunderbolt to a computer since I rooted months ago. I have never used HTC Sync to sync to my computer. Why is it under accounts and Sync HTC Sync is shown as a syncing account with the green sync circle?

I started to uncheck it but a message came up warning I would lose all my emails and contacts if I delete HTC sync. What's going on? Can someone explain?
