HTC ThunderBolt Shell/Holster Combo

Got it, like it. Only gripe is the actual belt clip. Not horrible, but not optimal. The optimal design for max security would include a u shaped bottom on the clip that prevents the entire holster from getting pulled off your belt if something accidentally snags the underside of your holster while in the act of sitting down or standing up, like a seat belt etc.. This holster has a horizontal protrusion to secure it on the belt, but if enough upward force is applied without opening the clip - it will come off and the whole kit and kaboodle goes flying.

Another annoyance would be the need to remove the actual case in order to insert phone into car cradle. Other than that, it is a very good holster/case.

I bought this shell/holster combo with my Thunderbolt and the phone repeatedly fell out of the holster. Today, it fell out again and cracked the screen. I plan to go to Verizon and see what they will do. I have had other holsters with other phones that had a clip on the end so that it could not fall out. I think this is a faulty design.

I have this holster combo for my Incredible and my old BB Tour, also have it on my Thunderbolt. Fits very nicely, phone doesn't move unless I move it.

From reading all of the postings, seems like you have a faulty set. Perhaps you could try it again? Risky proposition I'm sure, but...

I tried this when I first got my Bolt. Overall it's a nice design and the plastic feels nice, but it always felt very slippery in my which made me feel like i could drop the phone at any time. I returned it because of that and got a Platinum case from Best Buy (i hear they're identical to the Seidio Innocase II) which has very nice feeling soft touch material while still feeling very durable. Combo came w/ a holster (which i don't use). Check it out if you don't like this one.

Went into best buys today and checked out the Platinum case/holster combo. Tried the case on with the verizon holster in all black. I'm loving the combo. But i don't want to shell out another 35 bucks and have a useless holster (seidio/platinum)

I had the Shell/Holster for my Fascinate and loved it, so I figured I would pick it up for my Tbolt. Mine slides in and out with ease, not too sure I like it. I've found many times where the tbolt is on the edge of falling right out of the holster. I may have to take it back and purchase a Seidio :)

Bestbuy Platinum case/Seidio Innocase II with VZW Holster. IMO this is the best combo. Phone fits the holster very well and it won't fall out.

VZW Shell in Bestbuy Platinium case/Seidio holster. NOTE: at the top where the clip is at, the phone is not securely held down at that point.

i bought the holster/clip case yesterday. didnt try it yet, but will do so soon.

is the phone too big to use on a belt clip? i already felt like a geek with my blackberry tour on my belt now it's like a monster 4.3" smartphone will ensure i will never be spoken to at a bar.

I am very happy with my Innocase and clip combo, it seems as if the case mate is to open at the top and bottom.

Yes it is IMHO, and I believe your right lol. I slide it inside my pocket and let the clip latch my pants pocket lip. It fits comfortable.

If you wear a lab coat or suit coat like I do at work, it's not too big, however I would feel like a major geek if I wore it on a belt clip with jeans or other pants without a coat. Not to mention it would get in the way of my carry piece as well.

In a belt holster, it really doesn't look that much bigger than the Tour, in my opinion. Here's a photo of the Verizon leather holster for the Thunderbolt (left) and the Blackberry Tour in the RIM leather holster (right). Sorry the Thunderbolt isn't in its case, but I had to use it to take the photo.

I have have had two of the Verizon holsters and case. The holster belt clip has broken on both of them what a joke. I previously had a storm and otter box. Virtually indestructible. Sure wish they made something of that caliber versus the junk I have had to purchase twice and still no good outcome
