So according to documents which HTC signed before this device was finalized, they are working hard and we should be seeing Gingerbread on this device by June, but could see it as early as May!

EDIT: Onlive should follow Gingerbread.

It should get Skype later on.

Netflix and Google Music (with GB) will be coming to the device after launch. Onlive will follow. Battery issues on 4G LTE were causes of the delays, but since then, it has been fixed.

My question...
We may be still little ways off but the silence hints of the future worry me. (Speaking about Netflix only) The other updates could be very possible happen around June but why such a long wait?

P.S Where's Brennnnn at?

Gingerbread for Bolt

I am very new to Android stuff. This t-Bolt is my first experience. What is the benefit of the Gingerbread over what is on the phone now

uflac: I'm new too. A few tweaks but updates are almost always a step in the right direction on all fronts so I'm excited. Given the fact that all of these things are mentioned (skype, netflix, google music) and HTC's incredible update history I'm now very excited. I'll wait 6 months but the fact that they're coming means we won't have to wait too long (see: Samsung).

I am coming from the BB world. When there were updates, I loaded them through the Desktop manager or the autoloader exe.
How are the updates for android phones loaded on the phone

I'm also coming from a Storm. I've been riding the family handmedown train while my older brother and parents got the upgrades. This is actually my first new phone since my first phone some time in early-mid 200s (hoo ray generic flip phone). I spent most of the past 4 years on an nV2 and when the main screen on that busted my mom upgraded and I got her old nV3 (pinnacle of reliable flip phones) and that also served me well for a few years. Alas a few months ago it bricked itself while charging (wat). I got my brother's old BB Storm and people could not understand me on the phone and the keyboard was practically unusable and the terrible UI hadn't been updated since 2008. I waited patiently for the TBolt to finally get to use my own upgrade and be the last in my family to the smartphone master race. I'm quite pleased with Android so far but it can always get better.

I'm sure your phone will notify you when an update comes out (that doesn't keep me from checking everyday ;D)
