Okay, this has been brought up somewhere i'm sure, so sorry for the repost, i am caught between a dilemma, it's obviously the Thunderbolt, but i am considering the iPhone, and then maybe the Xoom, then i have an iPhone and Android, or should i just get the Thunderbolt and the Xoom, i figured to solve this i should just get the iPhone 4, and then an Android tab, (Xoom) when it comes out, i like the exclusivity of the iPhone, but i'm an android fan, but i've never tried Apple yet, i'd like to hear some other peoples opinions and thoughts, thanks you!

Personally I think the thunderbolt is far superior than the iphone. I'm planning to get the thunderbolt when it comes out and also getting the xoom tab. My biggest preference of android over ios is the fact that android is an open source platform which gives the consumer many ways to customize his/her device to whatever they prefer. Also give the developer unlimited possibilities of what the device can be used for. It can do the same things an iphone can and many more. But its all in your taste and preference but thats just my opinion.

I can agree with that, i just was wondering if it might be worth it to try Apple, the Thunderbolt can do more, i like the customization of Android but then again i've wanted an iPhone since 2007, before Android even hit the market. but no matter what i'm 100% on the Xoom tab, it's gonna be way better than the iPad from what i read, which is why i was thinking okay, get both, iOS and Android (iphone and xoom tab) just never had iOS, therefore i have nothing against it (yet) so far i'm thinking Thunderbolt and Xoom, but the iPhone is very tempting for some reason lol.... not to sit here and discuss apple iOS on an Android forum but yeah.....one thing i do like is there is so much stuff they make for the iPhone it's ridiculous. (not saying accessories will influence my decision)

In the end it will come down to your preference. I can tell you that I would never get any iDevice as long as iOS remains with its current interface. It drives me crazy! Just having nothing more than static icons from screen to screen is exasperating for me. I have an iPod Touch my company gave me as a gift and it has been close to meeting its end under a sledgehammer - that's how I dislike the interface.

So, since you like Android, you may want to give iOS a try by testing out an iPhone at the store before making the purchase. You don't want to find yourself frustrated with the device after making the investment.

Insofar as all the stuff that's out there for Android. That is quite true and it has to do with the market share iOS has had for years. Android is getting noticed now and I believe we will see more of the same. Also, you may find that most of these devices that are meant to interact with the iDevices also have ports for other MP3 players, for example. My Bose docking speaker for the iPhone/Pod has an auxiliary port as well that let's me connect anything that uses headphones to the same speaker.

This is what I would do...

Get the thunderbolt and wait for the XOOM wifi version. Streaming a rooted, free, LTE hotspot to the xoom tab will be a great option that the iphone will not have. 3g Data is just tooooooo slllllloooooooowowwwww....

current iphone 3g user, switching to android. im a huge phone nerd an i play with devices alot. ios is just so locked down and boring. if you are in a 4g network then this is a no brainer. go android for the open platform an just over all better device in my opinion. iphone will limit you to 3g. it will also limit your user experience. go to a store an play with the iphone. i just no i will never go back to ios until it gets a complete overhaul

It comes down to the user and personal preference. While I do use Apples products.... iPod/MacBook/iMac ..... I will take an Android phone over an iPhone anyday.

How do you sync your Android device to your Macbook/iMac for iTunes music?

That is one feature I love about my iPhone...I plug it into iTunes and it automatically loads any new music in my library as well as a few smart playlists I have set up.

Why would you want 2 different markets anyway? You buy something on 1 device, you can use it on the other.

I'm preordering the iphone4 for my wife today and will play with it to decide if I like it or not. Their are alot of things I love about Android like the ability to root my phone to install themes and custom roms, the wide availability of keyboards, the ability to customize my phone all which are missing from the iphone. But the iphone has a great camera great keyboard and huge app store with the ability for me and my wife to share apps. All which are great I believe the deciding factor will be lte and size of the iphones screen 3.5 just seems a tad small for me

Alright, thank you all, i'm going to go with the Thunderbolt and the Xoom after reading some of the opinions, still may play with the iPhone but other than that i get the picture :)

First: The Biz....will you spell check your signature...It is driving me crazy...thanks brother...

I am new to the android scene and have never owned an iphone but on the last phone I tried to think ahead...in terms of the life of the phone being somewhat "newer" two years down the road. I would worry about that with the iphone because some folks are already speculating that a new iphone will be coming this year with a new operating system. does anyone know if the iphone 4 can get the new iphone operating system when it comes out? Even though it would not be a 4G phone...if it had all the new operating system...you may be right on.

The iphone will get the update it may not get all the features though. And who knows if the next version will be a leap in technology or just a small step like the 3gs

Wait until they are both in the store and play with them both. Though I consider the iPhone to be a Semi-Smart phone, it is the right phone for some people.

Skillz1318, you can use DoubleTwist to sync your iTunes music with Android.

doubleTwist Player: Android app by doubleTwist ?„? on doubleTwist Android Market

With Android you can also just plug the phone to the computer and simply copy the music into the memory card on the phone. If you use Windows Media Player, the device will show up and you can sync the music that way as well. In other words, you have more than one way of doing it.

Hope that helps!

If it wasn't for itunes, my girlfriend would gat an iphone, and i'd be considering it. But both of us have had less than stellar experiences with itunes.
Honestly, i'd have apple everything if it weren't for itunes. I hate hate hate having to sync everything through some program, much less a program I hate. I'll be sticking with android where I can plug it in and just drag/drop wtfever I want to be on it.(and take off it it)

I don't like the fact that IPhones do not have removable batteries. It also does not have the USB charging port on the phone. With the Thunderbolt I will be able to use all my current chargers even my old Blackberry ones.

Comparing android and iPhone is not even fair. Android creams the CRAP out of it. But again, its what you like.

How about this:

Thunderbolt plus a really really good laptop. For the price of these "tablets" you could get a slammin' laptop. And at least the idea of owning a laptop make sense....

Well, think the purpose of tablets is that they are much more portable / easier to carry around and runs mobile software to be fast and efficient and not bog down. The real big one is, battery life. Tablets can run for days on a charge or more. Thats much nicer for going places compared to a laptop which lasts barley a handful of hours.
