You definitely can!

While Android on the HTC Touch Pro definitely isn't perfect yet (it wasn't built around Android, sadly), it is good enough for me to use it most of the time on my Touch Pro. Still have to go to WinMo for Navigation, and better power management though.
But be warned, if the Touch Pro is CDMA, then not everything is as up to speed as GSM Touch Pro's. Progress is still good enough for you to at least try it out and watch it boot

It seems to me that CDMA Touch Pro's are a month or so behind GSM ones...
You can check out the current progress at XDA though, those guys seem to be doing well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=601751 I'm glad they are getting me to some open source-ness on my WinMo phones (Ubuntu Linux is my desktop OS)
Not so on the HTC Touch, though. Works like a charm XD
