HTC U11 - Google Play Store crashing

[Android Central Question]

I have an unlocked HTC U11 ........every time i go into the Google Play Store and enter an app to search, it says "Google Play Store keeps stopping". I see numerous others with the same issue but no answers to fix. WTH Google????

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps​, select the Play Store, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now see if the problem persists.

I have had the same issue for a week or 2 now. I've tried clearing the cache several times, but it doesn't help.

I have HTC u11 on Sprint. Same issue started about 2weeks ago. I’ve cleared cache and data in Play Store and Services and wiped cache on device. Problem is resolved for a day but then returns.

Google play also crashes on my u11 when searching or installing.
It works if I split the screen, and only run google play in the upper half of the screen.
