HTC update, anyone else notice more memory?

I got the HTC update this morning. As far as I understand there isn't anything really huge in this update other than removing CIQ.

Before the update I have been having a really big issue with memory, after the update I notice a lot more memory on my phone.

Just wondering if this is just a temporary band-aid, or if somehow things have been bumped around and better organized to give me more memory?

I'm glad someone else is seeing this. It's a nice surprise but I was afraid it would all just disappear as quickly as it appeared.

It seemed like quite a bit of memory, at least for me. Thank you.

Must have been that Carrier IQ stuff they got rid of. Hard to believe it was that big though...

check your HBOOT version, it was bumped up to 2.18 (which is unlockable at this point)

they also updated peep for some reason, and sprint zone got some improvements, a yawner of an update except for removing ciq :). and yes h-boot was updated, i noticed a little bit more memory too.

I am still using Froyo 2.2 and have been afraid to update to gingerbread with all the problems i've heard. Is there any huge benefit of upgrading from Froyo 2.2?

Our EVOs both seem to be back to how they were working before the gb update, but faster. Gb was giving us awful battery drain, camera reboots, and keyboard lagg. All of which seems to be gone now. Loving this update so far and I was this close to dumping our EVOs for a Sammy. Glad I hesitated. Hope it lasts.

Maybe it's coincidence, but the sync icon (two circular arrows in the top status bar) won't stop flashing ever since I received the update this morning. I've completely de-activiated the two POP3 accounts I have, and rebooted, but that hasn't helped. I really don't want to go through the process of deleting all accounts (including corporate Exchange Mail) if I don't need to.

Anyone else experiencing any strange behavious afater the update?

I have noticed my phone running a little snappier, and got a little bit of memory back. A nice little update. Alas, it is the last I'm sure (and I wish it wasn't, our phones could handle more, maybe even ICS?)......

Wow, what a difference a few days makes. Past couple of days my EVO has gotten progressively worse with battery drain, constant cycling of exchange sync, very hot to the touch. I tried full resets, alternate batteries...nothing. It's a mess. After all of this time and effort trying to hang on to this EVO (my second after a replacement last summer), Sprint is buying it back for a zero net and I'm headed for a GSII. Reluctant to get a Sammy product, but that's about the only Sprint Android that consistently performs well it seems. We had a good run EVO. It was nice knowing you the past 13 months.
