HTC Vivid wont play through aux cable

Has anyone had this issue or know if there is any app i can get to get it to play through mu aux cable in car??? I have try several different things to be able to listen to my music on my Vivid in my car.....Any help will be appreciated...

Works fine for me both on an aux cable AND Bluetooth on my wife's Sync-enabled car...

I did come across a problem with the aux cable included with her iPhone - its jack may be too short or something, because I couldn't get it to work with my Vivid. Have you tried using a different cable?
