HTC Wildfire S Virgin Mobile 2.3.5 Update Not Working?

Hey there guys. I look around the forums and didn't see anything on this problem. I have a virgin mobile Wildfire S that is S-OFF. I recently got the message that the phone could be updated to 2.3.5. So I downloaded the update and I press install, the phone powers down...and than nothing. The screen remains blank. I've waited an hour with it like this, and nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? I've been researching and trying everything I could for days and I can't find anything. If anyone would be willing to help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Update:

Went into to Recovery mode to try to install the file from there. this is what I get....

I have a similar problem where it starts to update after it powers off, but then shows thre Red triangle and exclamartion point, then i usually just take the battery out bc nothing happens.

Have you changed the recovery or anything? The update is meant to work with the factory recovery and such. You would have to revert back to stock to apply the update.

Or wait for a dev to release a flashable zip.
