htcexpress.com has 1700mah battery today!

I keep asking myself the same question.
IMO, because there are specs for batteries and there are testing methods. None of which are very well "policed". You can produce a product and claim pretty much any performance specs you like and will have no accountability unless someone takes you to court over it. Meanwhile, you will be making money hand over fist before you eventually lose the court battle because you had misleading advertisements.

There have been tons of independent test labs that have tested batteries. They're all over the web. Google.... Anyway, the bottom line is that any battery rated within about 20-40 percent of another stands a good chance of having approximately the same tested specs. To "break out" of the "specification game" uncertainty, you pretty much gotta double or half the specs to be assured of getting a product significantly different than the one you are comparing it to.

These batteries (and similiar ones) are all over ebay, for a fraction of the cost (try 3x + charger for $12 shipped). This site is marking them up big time.

Have a look. These have actually gotten a good review or two by AC members. I ordered some last week. We'll see if the $12 was worth it. :)

I just checked Amazon.com and you can get this bundle there for $59.99 Amazon.com: HTC VERIZON THUNDERBOLT 4G LTE 2x1700mAh Battery better than OEM (35H00142-07M) + Wall Travel Dock USB Charger: Cell Phones & Accessories

They charge a 15% restock fee but you have 30 days to return items, so $9 is the risk.

Of course you can get a 1400mAh MyTouch 4G battery for $18.98 Amazon.com: Htc MyTouch 4G OEM HTC Standard Battery BB42100 35H00142-02M: Cell Phones & Accessories

Considering it.

Or better yet visit eBay and bid on a battery bundle. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_tr...olt+1700mAh+battery&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I read the reviews on Amazon (all happy so far) but one did comment the prices have gone way up form the $29 he spent.

So much conversation over batteries. And some actually claimed this device didn't have battery issues. I know mine is going back if it keeps being as crappy as it currently is. I am not spending 50 bucks more for a battery or using cheap Chinese batteries. Next time HTC needs to ship with a bigger battery. And part of the problem is Google too because the OS does a poor job in power management which is why they attempt to "fix" battery life in Gingerbread since that is supposed to be better at power management. Shame on HTC for this little arse battery and shame on Google for poor power management. People need to use their phones not have everything in the background using and/or stealing data.

Its technically $25 for each battery + free charger if you think of it that way.

I am on the fence about these batteries as sometimes they are horrible and worse than the stock battery. However, for me to get a stock battery plus extra charger it would be about $50 anyway.

More HTC's fault than Google's

I decided to order, I went the ebay route and its amazing how quickly people are ramping up the prices on the starting price of $0.99. Still the seller had a buy it now or make an offer sale so I did and got the set for $40. I considered it fair. Two batteries and a wall charger is not bad. Now I guess I don't need the fat battery after all :)

The 1700 MAH ones? If you did, when you get them, please write how they do compared to stock. Thanks!

These are the same batteries that were only 1500 mAh just a few days ago. Dig a couple pages back and check out my last post on the other, practically identical topic. Same product page and everything. With the click of a mouse it seems they gained another 200 mAh. Don't buy this snake oil.

NO, stop buying these. they're the same 1500 they sell for the mytouch4g that they're branding as 1700mah.

plus they ARE NOT OEM.. NOT MADE BY HTC. Just look at the wording.

So you're better off buying the eBay non-oem batteries for a fraction of the cost.

+1.

Just got mine today. Funny thing is the batteries say for the thunderbolt, but the external charger says for use with the merge. We shall see how this goes.
