Huawei Build Quality

Hey everyone! I'm seeing some very positive reviews about the Huawei P10 and thinking about picking one up to give it a kick around.

I picked up a S8 last month. Loved the performance but wasn't really impressed with the feel. Sure it has an aluminum frame and glass front but nothing has changed from the past with respect to Samsung IMO. They feel very plasticy and I was afraid with one drop it would be done for!

I've seen some stress tests on YouTube but some of those are very extreme.

Just looking from some feed back from current P10 owners about the build and everyday use.

For for build quality? Well that might be an easy decision

P10 is a great size device. They should have implemented a true home button, instead it just has a FPS, which is wasted space IMO. Camera is great but can be better. I think OP will teach others a lesson tomorrow - fingers crossed.

The S8 is slightly bigger but otherwise a solid device. Getting a good screen protector for it is the biggest PITA.

I sold my S8+ for this, I actually was supposed to get the OnePlus 5 but I am obsessed with IR Blaster. 😎

As for quality I was impressed with the 6P so this doesn't surprise me.

How's the flow of their UI is it as smooth as the Samsung touch wiz now? the touch wiz is so much better than what it was back then that's for sure. I've gotten very comfortable with the changes so i'm always hesitant to jump or cross over. How's the camera quality?

I would say that the build quality of the s8 is really top notch. I think what you are referring to is the durability and the s8 with tiny bezels and curved edge screen with a glass back probably isn't going to be as drop resistant as the p10.

Think of it is way...a fancy design glass table is most likely not going to be as durable as a solid metal table . But both can be built using quality materials and craftsmanship.
