Android Central Question

I was adding my work email to my phone today and it asked me to encrypt the phone, which I had never done. It said the phone must have at least 80% power and be plugged in during the encryption process. I made sure both of those requirements were satisfied and then began the process.

Next, the phone turned off and remained off for an hour. The splash screen was displayed as it was plugged in during this time as instructed. Then, I tried to power it back on. I get the EMUI screen with options of 1) Reboot system now 2) wipe data / factory reset and 3) wipe cache partition.

I have tried the reboot system now option over a dozen times already and it only brings me back to the same screen.

I have also tried pressing the power and volume up/down buttons at the same time. When I do this, it takes me to an installing update screen that goes to 5%, stops, and then eventually the phone will reboot and take me back to the EMUI screen previously mentioned.

Is there any way to get around this without selecting wipe data/factory reset?
