Huawei y300 not booting.

So ive lived with my y300 happily for almost 2 years now, but today it failed on me... I rooted and installed a custom rom half a year ago, and it worked great for that time. Today I tried to get into the recovery, but accedentaly pressed the volume up and volume down buttons instead of just volume down. It started a firmware update and after it was finished i couldnt do anyting. When trying to boot the phone shows the huawei logo and after that a black screen and when trying to go into recovery it is stuck on the huawei logo. The only thing that does work is the firmware update, and I have tried updating it again, but it doesnt work.
Can i save this device?

I think ive found the issue.
The firmware update somehow deleted the custom recovery and rom and didnt put anything in its place (or at least not anything that booted), so i got blackscreens. cant remember to ever put new firmware on the sd card... I flashed TWRP back on the device and that worked, so I flashed the rom and gapps.

Now it workes again.
