HUGE BATTERY LIfe Tip!

I have a HUGE BATTERY tip:

Seidio's 3800 mah battery. Sometimes you just have to use a bigger hammer.

I consistently get over 20 hours of usage from my GNex. I used to get about 12, but then I switched the screen brightness to "Auto" and that did the trick.

Oh, I actually used to get about 6-7 hours when I had haxsync installed. A GREAT app, but it lowered my battery IMMENSELY. Anyway, today, I am tracking for 28 hours.... with 4G turned on and never off.

Moderate usage.
Could you define "moderate usage" by posting a screen on time.

I have the extended battery....take off charger in morning 100%...by end of work day my phone is at 60%. Only thing happening while at work is syncing...a few texts, gmails coming in...but only a few and maybe a phone cal or two for a few minutes. I have to figure this out.

I have the same issue. Extended battery and all. I end up switching batteries out when I get home from work in the evening. I signed out of g talk which I never used. Love the phone but also need to figure out what's using all the juice.

Haxsync can be told how often to sync.

So I been getting less than 7-8 hours on my GN (Verizon) and can't for the life of me figure out what is keeping the phone awake. I downloaded betterbatterystats and saw that google talk was enabled. Only thing is I never enabled it, I don't even use it.

So I opened google talk and signed out, I went from burning 12-14% an hour to 4%...thats huge.

I also made sure my two google emails just sync contacts and calendars and my exchange is set for 1/2 hour check rather than push.

At 4% burn rate I'm looking at over 20 hours with the extended battery which I had from day 1.

Its a simple tip but I just wanted to share my experience.

I stay logged into GTalk at all times, and burn roughly 1% an hour when idle.

Same here... And about 8% while screen on! I average over 15 hours on a charge with around 50% screen on time.. And 35% android system time... Running Axiom 2.3 with kernel under volted to 180mhz screen off and 1200mhz screen on... Standard battery... The reason I say 8% while the screen is on, example if my phone is at say 70% and i use it for about one hour I am down to 62% on the battery meter, soooo in turn about 8% per hour...

Maybe it's just because of the ROM I use, but the problem for me isn't GTalk, it's that GTalk starts the camera sensor and doesn't close it. Just opening the camera app and then closing it does the trick for me.

This seems to have helped my battery life. Started this from a fresh charge this morning. I typically see about a 10% loss per hour with battery life. That is now about cut in half logging out of G-Talk. Been on battery for 5h 27m and I'm at 70% battery.

I'll give it another few days and see if the trend continues.

Edit: This is on 3G only. 4G/WiFi turned off. Extended Battery

I've been OK with my battery life but found yesterday it was just great. In over 8 hrs of use I saw only a 22% drop in battery life - never saw that before and I've not changed anything on my phone. I was in exactly the same location (my desk) as I was previous days.

I did notice that my "time without a signal" was non-existent, not sure why as I did nothing on my end.

It was a typical day, emails (set to sync every 15 min), text messages, a phone call or two and other general syncing (such as weather updates). I've just come to the realization there are way too many variables to try to understand why battery life sucks as times - things that you aren't even aware of (such as 4G/3G signal) as well as applications that people just arbitrarily put on their device make it a real challenge to effectively help someone.
