I was thinking something similar. Great phone though. I am very happy with it but the battery life is horrific. Worst phone so far that I've owned as far as battery goes.

This is a first...new phones are coming out right and left and I don't care. I have had almost every Android phone to come out on Verizon and I finally got what I was chasing. Thanks Google and Verizon!!!

I also must agree with the OP. I was an Android switching beast when I was on AT&T. Then I came "Back" to Verizon with the Bold 9900. Wanted to go back to BB and try something different. It wasnt even 30 days before I bought a used Droid Charge on Ebay cheap. Loved what 4G had to offer and honestly, I really loved the Charge. It was a sweet phone. After loading so many custom ROMS on it, I started to hear about this Nexus and the first phone with 4.0. Sold that Bold and put some money aside anxiously awaiting for the Nexus. Im still just as happy with it, as the day it came out and I was the first person in that particular store to purchase it. And you know what? I tried rooting it before and it was fine. Then I needed a replacement. Havent rooted it since or did anything that much custom.

Ice Cream Sandwhich is just THAT GOOD. The Phone is Sexy and Runs great WITHOUT anything Custom. So Im leaving it like this for awhile and dont see myself puchasing another Android for anytime soon.

I get about a good 11 hours of battery with mine on stock.With a rom I get 18. 4g phones just get bad battery life.

The last 2 years of phones has been me trying to get my phone looking/acting like the nexus. first my OG droid, with Launcher Pro, constant themeing. then the DX, same there, then the thunderbolt, same there.
i figure, why make my phone look/act like a nexus, when i can just own one.

this is by far, the nicest phone i have ever had. battery life is doable (not away from a charger for very long) especially coming from a thunderbolt, Screen is FANTASTIC, and i get nothing but compliments on how the phone itself looks...and i agree....samsung nailed it with this phone.

as for keeping it around for a while, this probably will stick with me for a while simply because it is a nexus, it is what i WANT. but i have a feeling all that will go away once MWC comes around in a couple weeks.
quad core phones galore. (not that i notice much difference in speed between my TB and my nexus in every day use.0

My Gnex (GSM) is fantastic. I hoped on the Verizon forum just because I wanted to mention my satisfaction with the phone. I came from a Blackberry Bold 9700 and I feel like upgrade was drastic. I can't believe I had such a hard time deciding if the Gnex was the right upgrade for me. I bought the phone in a super busy and somewhat shady part of Hong Kong for cash. I am so glad I grew a pair and bought the phone. Best decision ever! Long live the Gnex!!!

Im soooooo happy I bought a GN... I swear, I tried to update my girls samsung infuse last night and it was a pain in the a**... Couldnt even get a OTA Update.. Like are you freaking kidding me.. Downloaded Kies Mini and it doesnt even recognize the phone.. To make a long story short we couldnt update the damn thing to gingerbread and u cant take it to a store or anything... Exactly why im done with SKINS! Although HTC has a decent track record.. Samsung just flat out sucks with anything skinned.

I'm settled in and happy with the G-nex. For a while I was going back and forth on whether to switch to T-mobile and use my GSM nexus. The GSM nexus is being sold and, I'm sticking with Verizon.

I use this phone for business and the call quality is so nice I can't justify leaving big red right now. I still don't get hardly any data in my home but, the phones calls are awesome. The battery life is really bad but it's nice to have a extra battery. Most days I can make it but some days I have to switch batteries, it just depends on what I'm doing.

I'll probably have this phone for awhile. My Verizon contract is up a year from now and I will see then. I wonder what the next Nexus phone will be like and, if it will be available on Verizon. This has been a interesting time and, I'm not sure if I want Verizon to have another nexus phone or not. Overall I am happy with the service and phone though.

I missed having my Nexus S when i was on sprint. Even thought the EPIC 4G touch was better. But now with Galaxy Nexus On verizon, I get sleek looking phone, ICS and good data services. THANK YOU LTE.

I'm at the "not paying attention to new releases" point too. Very happy with the Nexus. First time in a while I'm not thinking to myself "I should've gone with X phone."

At this point for me, the only thing that would get me to switch is if a new Nexus is released with a quad core processor.

But, like many others, I really do like my Nexus.

I definitely feel I own the best phone available on VZW but I see enough areas of improvement that I could also see myself swapping out in 10-12 months depending on what's available (my OG Droid nearly lasted me 23-24 months but that has to be a record for me. I don't see myself going a similar distance on this device)
