I am missing the Uninstall button to remove applications

Anyone have any insight? I go to:

01) Menu
02) Settings
03) Applications
04) Manage Applications

Then I click on, for instance, CityID, as I'd like to remove it (it's a trial and I'm not going to pay for it after it expires in 15 days). The buttons I have:

Clear data
Clear cache (greyed out)
Clear defaults (greyed out)
Force stop

That's it. There is NO UNINSTALL BUTTON. I promise! What am I doing wrong? This holds true for any application I click on within Manage Applications. Some have different buttons, but one thing is consistent; NONE off them have Uninstall as a button.

Help?

These apps are not removable. Verizon has them locked down. you will be able to remove them as soon as the phone gets root. If you dont know what root is, do a search on the forums and you will get a better undrestanding of what it is. there are pages and pages on this topic. Until then the only thing you can do is ignore the app.

you cannot uninstall the apps that are preloaded on the phone, not without root access.

other apps you download can be uninstalled either from where you are, or from the downloads section of market.

Maybe you can hide them like on the storm? Lol hopefully you can hide unwanted icons and show when you nEed them!

yeah but on the storm they usually weren't actually installed on the phone. usually it was just a link to the site to actually download the app. some were preinstalled, but most were just aliases. either way, both were easily uninstalled using desktop manager

the good news is some of the stuff is like it was on the storm / other BB. they are links to the application in the market.

the bad news is that you cannot hide them. but the ability to make folders and place things on your home screen lessens the need to actually open the drawer very often. not a great solution, but it does work...

it's a limitation of the operating system, not the phone.

also, if you want, you can download some home screen replacements which then allow you to hide what's in the app drawer.
