I want to remove the swipe required to unlock the phone. I do not have the option "none" in screen lock. PIN or password, I still have to swipe first. Clear Credentials is greyed out.

I have factory reset the phone. I still can not disable this.

Who the hell wants to push power, swipe, and then put pattern or whatever in every time? Seems pretty redundant.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't have that exact phone, so I can't be sure about the details -- but although there are phones that allow you to remove that initial swipe, most phones don't. It's intended to be a way of preventing unintended unlock attempts, like if the phone is in your pocket or in a purse. On some phones, too many unsuccessful unlock attempts can lead to a factory reset, so it can be an important thing to avoid.

Have you tried using Smart Lock? I believe that will allow you to open the phone directly to the homescreen, as long as the Smart Lock criteria are met.
