I am using A S6 edge. Will my text messages safe to Send?

Don I worry about my text messages send to others being hacked or should I set up a password to protect it?

I would be confident with texting personally. Possibly the only security measures would be to turn off the auto download in mms, if you're really concerned about stagefright type issues.
