I bought a refurbished HTC One M8. It will not turn on with the battery.

It was working fine. The phone will turn on, the HTC screen comes up then the phone shuts off. The phone shows the battery as fully charged. It will however turn on when it's plugged in. I'm running 6.0. It' seems the phone is a developers version

Hi there!

The only thing I could recommend is a factory reset....but I think the problem is beyond that. You can try to entering safe mode, so see if the problem exists there, if not, then it could be a rogue app, but doubtful.

Enable Safe Mode

With the phone powered off, press and hold the “Power” button for a couple of seconds to turn the device back on.
When the HTC logo appears on the screen, press and hold the “Volume Down” button.
Continue holding the “Volume Down” button until the Android OS is completely loaded. You should be able to verify that you are in Safe Mode if you see the words “Safe Mode” in the lower-left corner of the screen.
