Hi Guys,

So last night I tried installing CyanogenMod, I (stupidly) tried using the beta installer for mac and all was good. I tried starting the phone and I just got the Cyanogen logo. I had a look online and followed a few instructions, it told me to put the phone into recovery mode and wipe the cache and a few other things. I did so and this morning, I was unable to turn my phone on. If I press the power button, nothing happens. Have I ruined my phone? Is there a fix for this?

Thanks in Advance,

- Luca

Welcome to the forums.
If you can, run Android Debug Bridge to flash the stock images to your Nexus. That should get you back up and running.

How long did you hold the power button down?, sometimes it takes a very long time to turn on. Try holding it down for a minute.

No it didn't make a backup, that's something you need to do yourself. If you are going to play with alterantive ROMs you should install ROM Manager, that will simplify the process of making and restoring backups.

Okay will do. Is there anything you recommend reading before trying to install ROM's? Thank you to everyone thats helped me!

Cheers,

- Luca

Since the Msc installer bricked my phone and the fact that CWM didn't work I intalled TRWP and that works awesomely. My tip is to download this and create backups. I believe they're called nandroid backups. Works well for me and then you keep the backup on your phone and are safe. The preselection for backup options is fine and will backup the rom and all apps etc.

ROMs are for developers or uber-nerds. Normal folk should not be installing them IMHO.
