i can tether my rooted droidx but no internet

I have a droidx that I rooted. I downloaded wifi tether so i could use it with my asus eee transformer. I can connect and tether the eeepad to the phone i get an ip address but i still dont get internet. The same thing hapened when i tethere to my hp laptop. I could connect but no internet.
Please advise

I used Barnacle to tether wirelessly to my laptop a few times and it worked perfectly.

Thank you. I downloaded the app. Installed it, launched it and get the following...
Dhcp could not bind the dhcp port. Address already in use.
NAT restart network is down
Nat restarting now

It gets stuck there. Then when i try to launch the website for help, i am taken to https://dunsp.vzw.com. basiclly the verizon hotspot website where i need to sign up and pay.

hmm are u still on the stock ROM or are you on a custom one?
