Android Central Question

Messenger was updated and now I can’t delete any conversations and my inbox is flooded. If you click on a conversation to delete, you have to delete message by message and when all is finished the contact still remains in your inbox

Long-pressing a conversation should give you an option to delete it. When you open Messenger, find the conversation you want to delete, long-press it, tap Delete (or the red trashcan icon), and then confirm the deletion.

Hey!
I was searching for the query so I got this thread,
does anybody know about how should I deactivate my messenger as I also don't want to remove my Facebook account is it possible?

You can uninstall it, or force stop it from Settings, Applications.
I always recommend that you use a browser to use fb and not the app.
Good luck

What happens when you open your notifications list of new and old messages? Look at your list. Pick a contact. Just press it. The message should move to the left. There will be three options to the right or icons. Press the trash can. Delete it - that's about it. Or you can open your messages separately and drill down your conversation and press them one by one and delete that way. Good luck!

Just uninstall Messenger. Facebook should still work. The messaging part of the national website - I am not sure about.

Thanks for the instant reply, sorry I was out for some time,
By the way on the same day, I found this guide to get rid of the messenger. If somebody want to do the same can try it becasue it worked for me and seriously I am happy to be away from annoying people who just text me for every bit of info, why dont they google.
Well never mind

The link you embedded was just to a VPN company's website, not a list explaining how to get rid of Messenger. I removed the link. Can you try again?
