I cannot receive picture messages

Hello. So I will start by saying I can send them fine as it seems. I just can't receive them. I just upgraded my phone from an LG G3 to the LG G5. It was an issue with the G3 as well. I was kind of hoping it would work with my new phone but its the same old thing. I can send out picture messages, but will not receive them. And the only heads up I get is generally when someone messages me asking if I got the pic they've sent. I dont get any other messages saying it's failed to receive or anything of that nature. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier do you have? Have you checked your APN settings to make sure they're correct for the carrier?

So I'm with Virgin Mobile. And I did have a look at the APN settings. However I'm not really sure what I'm looking to change exactly to get things to work.

Call the Virgin help desk and they will talk you through it. Best to use a different phone to make the call so you can do the settings as you go .. They can send you test message to check where the problem lies at network level.

I want to say it worked... However, I was able to receive a couple from one phone. A message came up asking to download the image and it worked fine. I received a message from someone else asking to download the image but it kept retrying with no luck and then I asked 2 other friends to try and send a pic. But didn't receive anything. Not even the message asking to download the image. I'm confused.

Did you ever use an iOS device, and if so, did you make sure your iMessage account is completely deactivated, with your phone number removed from their server? Call Apple Support to make sure.
