Today I rooted by droid x2 successfully and afterwards tried to use D2 Bootstrapper to recreate a backup of my rom. Upon the program running the bootstrap mod it restarted and then got stuck on the motorola logo screen. I tried entering recovery mode but the options there don't seem very helpful if the phone won't even boot (update from SD card, reset, etc.)

The problem is I cannot flash the thing, it won't let me. I run RSD lite 5.0 and put the phone in RSD mode, then in the RSDlite sees it, but upon trying to flash it it says:

"Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve intialization values from ini file (0x7029); phone connected"

Also if initially I open the program and click on my device/phone under the list it will immediately change from connected... to:

"Phone[0000]; Unable to retrieve intialization values from INI file."

I don't understand what is wrong? Why can't I reflash? I have searched around and tried using different versions of RDDlite like people said but to no avail. Please help. I have tried two different computers (mine is windows 7 64 bit and the other 32 bit).

So you can get into recovery? If so try factory reset. Make sure your in rsd mode when flashing the sbf too. When you run bootstrap next time make sure you hit the install recovery first and that your plugged in to wall charger.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I you are having issues with the bootstrap recovery, try using the stock recovery. Hold down the power button and the down rocker until you see the writing on the top of the screen. Press the down rocker 7 times until you see android recovery and press the UP rocker. You will see the android with a "!" in a triangle. Once you see this, press both the up and down rocker together at the same time. Do the factory reset and the cache wipe.

If you are having issues getting into RSD mode, Just press and hold the power button and UP rocker until you see entering RSD mode.

If you do both of these and you are still having issues with your SBF, you might want to try and download the file again. It might be corrupt. What SBF are you tying to use?

I hope I did not insult your knowledge but explaining all of this. I know I had issues with everything when I 1st started

First off, you have to make sure you are using the right SBF file. There is one for android 2.3.3 and one for android 2.3.4. Make sure you are using the one for the version you are on.

Second (just to put it out there), I have tried going into RSD mode with the power button and volume up button, which goes directly into that mode, and it didnt work right. I found it better to press the power button and volume DOWN button until you get options at the top. Press the volume down button until you get to RSD, plug your phone into the computer and press the volume up button. Then your computer should recognize it and you can press start in RSD lite.

Third, when you are done with sbf, I always get stuck on the boot loop. I have to take the battery out and put it back in, Go into recovery mode and do a factory reset and wipe data and cache then reboot and all is good.

Just some tips I figured out with my experience. Good luck.
